WELCOME TO MY LOCATION GUIDE! AS A PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER, I BELIEVE THE PERFECT BACKDROP CAN MAKE YOUR MEMORIES EVEN MORE SPECIAL. FROM THE VIBRANT SUNSETS OF THE HIGH DESERT TO THE GORGEOUS LANDSCAPES, NM OFFERS A VARIETY OF STUNNING LOCATIONS!

 

Alameda open space

 

 

📍 Location: Alameda & Rio Grande Blvd, Albuquerque

Alameda Open Space is one of my favorite spots for that soft, natural look. It has the best golden light, a peaceful feel, and a mix of open fields, scenic trails, and lush green trees.

The best time to shoot is sunrise for a light, dreamy glow or golden hour for that warm sunset light everyone loves.

What I love most about this location is the variety. You get sandy areas along the Rio Grande, tree-lined paths, and even a few bridges that can add a slightly more modern feel to your photos.

This spot is especially beautiful in the spring and fall, but honestly, it works year-round thanks to that soft, golden light.

Foothills

 

 

📍 Location: Tramway near Paseo Del Norte

If you’re wanting mountain views with a true New Mexico feel, the Albuquerque foothills are one of the best locations in Albuquerque. With wide open desert and rolling hills, it’s especially beautiful for sunset sessions. Stunning mountain views with the Sandia's as the backdrop. During golden hour, the sky transforms into oranges and pinks creating the perfect setting for New Mexico's unique desert vibes. This location is great year round

Bosque

 

📍 Location: Rio Rancho

Bosque brings the traditional feel of Albuquerque; featuring the Rio Grande, big cottonwood trees and beautiful fall colors.


✨Earth tones and natural colors photograph best here. Think soft neutrals, warm tones, and muted shades that complement the landscape.

Los Poblanos Open Space

 

📍 Location: Rio Grande and Montano

A hidden gem in Albuquerque, Los Poblanos Open Space offers stunning open fields, towering cottonwoods, and a gorgeous view of the Sandia Mountains. This location is perfect for golden hour. Lush tall grass in the summer, and golden open fields in the fall.


✨Flowy fabrics for movement, earth tones, and muted colors work best here.


Note: If you are looking for the tall, lush grass- this is available in the summer and early fall months only.

With its blend of historic architecture and vibrant campus energy, UNM offers a diverse range of location opportunities. From the landmark Zimmerman Library, to the duck pond, to the iconic U- the opportunities are endless.

Studio

 

 

📍 Location: Light House Studio or Your Daily Studio

Studio fee applies

Weather-proof, temperature controlled, and flexible timing. Studio sessions have gorgeous light any time of the day.

✨Now here is where you get to really bring your personality! Maybe bright colors is your vibe, or more of a jeans and white tee. Bring the props, the personality, and all the vibes! Note: Studio Session must be reserved in advance.

A hidden gem for urban photography, Graffiti Alley is a vibrant, ever changing canvas of street art in the heart of Albuquerque. Bursting with bold colors, intricate design, and raw expression, this spot offers a dynamic backdrop for edgy photography.

Graffiti Alley

 

Los Conchas Trailhead-Jemez Springs

 

 

 

📍 Location: Jemez Springs, NM ( 1.5 hour drive from ABQ)

Lush forests, river views, rocky cliffs, open meadows, and scenic mountains- this picturesque location is bright, fun, and has endless possibilities

Doc Long- Cedar Crest

 

📍 Location: Backside of Sandia- about 30 minutes from Albuquerque

Nestled in the Sandias- Doc Long Picnic Ground is a scenic spot surrounded by towering ponderosas and lush forest views. With its peaceful atmosphere, rustic bridge, and dabbled light flickering through the trees, it's an ideal location for portrait session. Best time to shoot here is morning or afternoon.

Rio Rancho Overlook

 

📍 Location: Near Rivers Edge in Rio Rancho

This breathtaking overlook overs a stunning panoramic view of the Rio Grande Bosque. The winding river meets the lush canopy of cottonwood trees. Framed by the majestic Sandia Mountains in the distance. This location is perfect for capturing the Bosque's natural beauty.

📍 Location: Downtown Albuquerque

Downtown Albuquerque offers a dynamic mix of modern and historic charm. With it's colorful murals, urban architecture, and lively atmosphere- it is a vibrant backdrop for a portrait session.

📍 Location: Romero Street NW

Old Town is full of rich history and blends with charming adobe architecture. Which makes it a unique spot for family portraits. The historic and eclectic buildings provide a warm/timeless backdrop. As the sun sets, Old Town takes on a golden glow.
