A little about ME!

My name is Deanne Schufft and I am a photographer based out of Albuquerque/Rio Rancho, New Mexico! I was born and raised here, but don't let my location stop you! I love to travel all over to capture moments through my lens.

But first, thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and check out my website! I am so honored you are here. If we haven't yet met, I sure hope we do soon! I love meeting new people, learning more about you, and having the honor to capture your memories!

I began photography in middle school when we used to develop films in darkrooms. It was there I became interested in the process of photography, although then it was used more for journalism and news. I continued with journalism through high school and thought that is what I would end up doing as my career. News photography was so interesting! Oh how things changed LOL

I have a bachelor's degree in marketing, and while I was in school was a bar manager for many years. That allowed me to meet amazing people who I am still friends with today! Many of my regulars at the restaurant were at my wedding, so fun! Following the restaurants, I worked in the corporate and freelance marketing world out of college and then transitioned into being a third-grade public school teacher for the last 9 years. 4 years ago, I took a position at a new school in my local town as an Educational Technology Specialist. I have a passion for creativity, adventure, fun, and the school schedule was great when I had little ones. But I just felt that something was missing.

So, 4 years ago, my husband bought me another camera and encouraged me to get back into what I loved. It was my creative outlet when I was younger, and boy had I missed it!! These past four years have been life-changing for me. I found my passion, my purpose, and my love of capturing memories for the most amazing people. I can't wait to do the same for you!

I am a mama of 3 sweet kids so I know the importance of photos and how impactful they are as your kids grow up. I have been with my husband for over 20 years and am thankful to have the most amazingly supportive family. I have been in your shoes as I would try and have family pictures done every year. I remember how stressful that was, and I want you to have the opposite experience with me...let's make this fun and easy!

I pride myself in how I connect with children and make sure we capture exactly where they are. There will be limited posing for littles, let's let them run, play, and you can love on them. For me, photography is storytelling. We can take those formal photos, but what makes this fun is capturing your family exactly as they are. Seeing the love between a couple, a family,and a wedding is what drives me to continue to thrive. Bring those grumpy teenagers (or let's be honest those husbands). I will win them over and so many of my clients say "That was so easy!"

I pride myself on the relationships I have built with my clients, they have become a piece of my business that is vital. I love them and they feel the same for me. I get excited to watch them grow and change as I photograph them year after year. If you are new, I can't wait to meet you and create together!
